What's this? What's this? I can't believe my eyes!

The marvels of model clay (FIMO) and an hour of boredom turned my humble hut into a haunted mansion.

Did anyone notice Halloween is just round the corner?

I am not the xmassy type. Or the Valentiny type, though I am kinda tiny. Halloween is MY holiday of choice, and I am already kinda excited about it.

I don't like spiders. They love me. Let us not elaborate on this.

Bats are, in my book, drop- dead gorgeous, and witches are people I deeply admire. Death winks a lot more than most people think and I seriously can't find anything wrong with rats.

Folksy Friday: Meow!

OmG... A week passed, and I hardly noticed it.
Well, there was a birthday to be celebrated- The Man turned 37. Look at him, wrinkles and all:

Your friendly neighbourhood bum. Isn't he adorable? The hat was an impulse buy, £10 from Scope. Gotta love it! Love it so much, I had to... improve its ownership:

Yeah, that's band aid round my thumb. Nearly chopped the bugger off trying to open The Mans new pool cue wrapping plastic thingy! (leave it to me, darling, don't cut yourself. I know what I'm doing. Err.)



Crafting- wise, I have been kinda lazy... up until today.
I will leave the details for a soon- to- come post, but I shall give you a teaser:

As some of you might know, we share our life, house and everything else with four cats. Shannon, Erin, Hope and Bob. Penny in our hearts.
For me, life wouldn't be complete without them furry buggers shedding hair all over the place, stealing items, puking up so you step into the mess first thing in the morning, gnawing away at everything remotely string- like and taking up so much space in bed that you'd rather sleep in the garage if you had one.
So, this week I will dedicate FF to all things CAT. Because they have taken over my life anyway.

Folksy Friday: Come with me to the Emerald City!

My first shot at Folksy Friday. For some reason, I have the Emerald City on my mind, so come and take the journey along the Yellow Brick Road with me!

My (semi-) precious!

Guys, I am so chuffed with myself!
Yours truly has managed to create something!

Over time, I have assembled quite a lot of random rescue jewellery. I find myself particularly drawm to semi- precious gemstones of any kind, a lot more than glitter and bling. There is just something about them that appeals to me.

So, a few days ago I gathered my supplies and got to work. Okay, there might have been a little trip to the bead shop beforehand, to acquire some shamelessly overpriced bits and pieces, but in order not to re- open the wound this has left on The Man, I shall not elaborate on this too much. Lets just say, he suffered quietly and managed not to cry while I was comparing shades of green.

Here's what I came up with:

 The green one; strung on stretchy cord to allow for a bit of flexibility,with moss agate, crystals, unakite, glass and wooden beads plus tibetan silver accents around an off- center wooden focal. Doesn't it just scream Elvenpath?

The second lot features a little idea of mine, feel free to nick and adapt it. Say hello to the embroidery thread- covered washer! (loadsa wrapping, but so worth it!)

Tourmaline, amethyst, tibetan silver, glass, wood, lampwork and crystal on stretchy cord. What do you think of the washer? And c'mon, tell me that clasp is just stinkin' adorable. Lurve it!

The only things I bought new were the crystals and tibetan silver bits, everything else was pre- loved.

Go on, guys, get yourselves into charity shops, car boot sales and thrift stores. Give unwanted stuff a new life and wear it with pride!
